Welcome Back and Happy New Year from Mr Schumm

Dear Parents/ Carers,

Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed a good break.

We had a few bracing days in Hastings with family and then returned home only for me to slide, literally, down the Chiltern Way! So, there I am, laid in the ditch shouting for Rachel and the boys (they were walking ahead as I was muttering about not wanting to go for a walk anyway and I may or may not have been checking my emails…) to help me and my ankle – Rachel’s first response was ‘had my hurt ankle affected my voice too?’! Onwards and upwards however, with a slight wobble at the moment, but I have reassured Miss Whiting that I will dance again!

It’s great to be back and the children are raring to go! A quick reminder that children may only wear training shoes on their PE days and must wear black school shoes on other school days.

The Early Years playground has had a complete astro-turf make over – thank you FOSS. It now looks like a large expanse of beautiful lawn for the children to enjoy!

Welcome back to Miss Rachel, our music teacher, who has returned to St Stephen’s – we missed you!

Another slightly challenging term (pandemically speaking), ahead of us, but I know we can rise to the demands and support each other throughout. The main thing is that we are here and we are open. So, let’s keep each other safe, follow the guidance and the daffodils will be here in no time!

And now a little something to make you smile – as part of our Christmas service we enjoyed a video called ‘A Year at St Stephen’s’ https://youtu.be/t5_qssit-eo – enjoy!

Have a lovely weekend.
