School Houses

Our school is split into four houses named after the missionaries Eric Liddell, Gladys Aylward, John Wesley and Alexander Crummel. The children can win house points for good work and behaviour and the winning house each term celebrates with a special treat! Throughout the year, there are a number of inter-house sports competitions culminating in our annual sports day where the house with the greatest number of points wins a trophy.  Every year, four house captains in Year 6 are elected by the younger children in each house and take ownership of the direction and focus for that year, including the choice of charity. House points are collected every week and a running total can be found on the Stars of the Week and House Points page on this website.

A Word from our House Captains

Hello,

We are your 2022/23 House Captains. We are very excited to be fundraising for St Stephen’s and are looking forward to the best year ever! Our charities for this year are Ahoy and Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) which we will be visiting soon. Ahoy is a charity on the River Thames which raises money for disabled people, to enable them to go rowing. While, Great Ormond Street Hospital is a hospital and a charity that helps to treat suffering children from all around the world.

Here are some quotes from a few of our house captains:

Aylward: Annabelle “I am so pleased to be in this position and I promise to be your loyal House Captain and will always be by your side.”

Hal “Hi my name is Hal and I’m ecstatic that I have been chosen by Aylward (my house) to be one of their House Captains.”

Crummel: Scarlett “It is such an honour to be elected by my own people and I will be sure to lead Crummel to victory.”

Felix: “I’m very glad that the Crummelians have voted for me and I will offer my services to this school.”

Wesley: Albie “Being a House Captain is a great privilege and is also a great opportunity to lead my house.”

Sophie: “I am so grateful to have this opportunity to be a role model and inspire people.”

Liddel: Rose: “I will do my best to make you happy and improve elements of the school.”

Thelma: “I am over the moon and am willing to do whatever is best for my house.”

Our fundraising ideas include:

  • The Christmas Quiz on the 14th of December
  • Sunday lunch in the school restaurant!
  • House Captain bake off
  • And possibly ‘St Stephen’s Got Talent.’

See you soon,

The House Captains
