Library Bookface Photography Challenge

At St Stephens we are obsessed with encouraging all of you children to love books. We mostly encourage you to read them but on this occasion your challenge is quite different. Here is what you need to do…..

Directions:

  • Your bookshelf is a great place to start! Find a book cover with a face or some other portion of a body.
  • Use the book cover you choose to create a striking photo that will blur the lines between reality by replacing the book’s cover with parts of yourself.
  • Snap a clear picture.
  • Email your bookface picture to pereira@ststephensce.lbhf.sch.uk
  • Include the word “bookface” in the subject line of your email. In the body of your email, add your name and class and then attach your picture.
  • You can submit up to 2 photos for this challenge.
  • Winning entries will be announced after half term

April 2020

Calling all budding poets out there entries for the 10th Young People’s Poetry Competition are now open!! What a great opportunity to get the creative juices flowing. Entry is free and open to children aged between 8-12 years.

Poems can be on any topic area; the only stipulations are that each poem should be the child’s own work (with no parental help) and is limited to a maximum of 25 lines. Poems should be hand-written or typed and emailed to l.pereira@ststephensce.lbhf.sch.uk. Please do not put your child’s name on the work but instead simply put their name and class in the email subject line. This will enable this local competition to judge anonymously. I will then submit the poems and keep a copy for the school Library. All entries must be received by Monday June 1st 2020 or earlier. Winners to be awarded in September.
