A Friday Night Round Up or Cake Gate from Mr Schumm

Dear Parent/ Carers,

Welcome back to the second half of the autumn term and you can certainly feel that chill in the air. It is great to have everyone back safe and sound after a restful half term. I spent a week in Middlesbrough enjoying the delights of the north east and my father’s dulcet tones ‘turn that off it’s all just gloom and doom at the moment’. This was in-between wrestling my dad for the remote control! I never knew it was possible for one man to watch back to back sports as much as my dad – motor racing, cricket, football, rugby etc. with the occasional ‘you can watch what you want in a minute!’

So did you get a chance to check out the St Stephen’s Boutique https://www.ststephensboutique.co.uk/ – isn’t it amazing? What a fantastic way to raise money for the school and help parents find those much needed items.

As with all new ventures, there is always a tiny glitch at the beginning and this time we had multiple cake buyers! Sadly, when you bought your cake through Paypal it didn’t register immediately, resulting in that cake still being on offer, which meant we had multiple purchases of the same cake. Think Victoria sponge gone mad! If you would like a refund please email Sylvia at ststephensboutique@gmail.com. Alternatively you could have a credit note for the next cake sale or I could whip up a quick sponge…

We have had a fantastic Parliament Week so please check out the school website on Monday for an update from Miss Mahon and the results of the school lunch vote. It was great to welcome the MPs Danny Kruger and Andy Slaughter for a grilling from Year 6 via Zoom.

If you haven’t already booked for Parent’s Evening please do so by referring to your emails.

Thank you for the incredibly generous response to our ‘Beyond the Bow’ present collection. We have now found volunteers able to donate presents for all the children allocated from the charity. As a result, we no longer require any further volunteers.  Should you wish to still get involved with the charity please visit the site below. https://www.beyondthebow.co.uk/pledge

Have a lovely weekend.
