A Final Round Up from Mr Schumm

Good afternoon,

What a week filled with tears, laughter and lots of sunshine!

Last night we had our Year 6 Leavers BBQ where our Year 6 children spoke so eloquently about their classmates and reminisced about their time at St Stephen’s. A great evening of celebration and goodbyes.

This morning we said our farewells to Year 6 with a special service in the playground. We shared memories, read out prayers and sang! A proper St Stephen’s send off! A few words that I wrote in the Year 6 Year Book.

Finally, in the words of Cass Elliot (100 House points if you tell me who she is!)

‘You’ve gotta make your own kind of music

Sing your own special song

Make your own kind of music

Even if nobody else sings along’

I send you all my best wishes for this new chapter in your life. Thank you for being the wonderful young people you are, never change – you’re unique and keep making your own kind of music because I will always sing along with you.

Welcome to our new music teacher Mr Evans, who played for our school production and is joining us from September. Mr Evans is highly experienced and if he can cope with the summer production he can cope with anything!

In an assembly this afternoon we said goodbye to Mr Gane and Mrs Lowrey as they leave St Stephen’s. We will miss them so much and we thank them for their time and commitment to our school. We wish them the best of luck in their new adventures and hope they will come back and visit soon.

FOSS have had an amazing few years – so amazing in fact that we now have to renew the constitution, in light of legislation changes. We are holding a meeting on Thursday, 4th September at 6pm to update the governance.

On behalf of the staff and myself I would like to thank you for your kind words, cards and generous gifts – they are all greatly appreciated.

On a final note – thank you God for an amazing year – we couldn’t do it without you!

Have a wonderful summer and see you all in September for an exciting year – where we will keep on making our own music and singing our own special song in Shepherd’s Bush!
