Foss Christmas Fair and The Great Drinks Party

Mr Schumm’s Blog – Amarillo to Shepherd’s Bush

Friday 6 Dec 2019

With the sun shining and a chill in the air the FOSS Christmas Fair was a spectacular success. This year we had a bucking reindeer, children snowboarding in the hall, a bouncy castle, Mr Marvel with his real rabbit and so much more. The school was filled with stalls and the number of parents that attended was brilliant. Thank you to FOSS for making the day such a tremendous success and ensuring our children had a really festive treat of a fair. In fact, thank you to FOSS full stop, who help us to make our school what it is and to all those parents who support them – especially the ones who tidy up afterwards frantically pulling down Christmas Fair posters to get the school ready for Monday morning.

Now, you may have noticed we have had one or two celebrity tweets this week ( check out @StStephensLBHF ) but we would love some more followers and retweets – you know what to do! So, do you have a famous friend who could send us a quick tweet – one a day for a St Stephen’s take on an Advent calendar! Go for it!

The St Stephen’s Post Box is located near the Reception area, so please ask the children to post all their  Christmas cards there ready to be delivered to the classrooms.

A massive silent cheer to our wonderful choir and Miss Rachel, our music teacher, for their amazing performance in the Westfield Choir for which we were awarded the runner up prize of £200 – brilliant!

The Great St Stephen’s Drinks Party

With the end of term rushing towards you in a frenzy of Nativities, Carol concerts, Christmas lunches and the list goes on- you really do need an evening to relax, sip a glass of chilled fizz/ beer (delete as appropriate) or one of Cookies lethal   cocktails and fight Mr Perry over Cookie’s ham. So dust off the Christmas jumper and join myself and members of staff from 7.30 onwards in the atrium, for canapés galore, bountiful     banter and a cash bar (with not a raffle ticket in site)!

This event is organised by the school and is our way of saying a   massive thank you to parents for all they do for our school. We have asked for a £10 contribution, which is going to The House Captains chosen charity of CentrePoint and their trip to the North Yorkshire Coast line (available on Parentmail)  but do not let this put you off the most important thing which is to come along and join in the fun – now look sharp you know it makes sense.

Have a great weekend.
