After School Provision

Tuesday 1st October 2019

Welcome to the first Clubhouse blog of the year, which we aim to update on a half termly basis. It has been a great start to the school year with more than 32 clubs before or after school on offer and around 120 children taking up this opportunity every evening.

The new Clubhouse room has had a makeover with a lick of paint, funky green grass-like flooring, lighting and bean bags all installed. We aim to make this out of school care for children as safe, relaxing and fun filled as possible.

 Clubhouse Staff

The Clubhouse Team currently consists of Phyllis, Merle, Natalie, Alastair. Shantelle and Zak but please direct any queries to me at playcentre@ststephensce.lbhf.sch.uk

Snacks

We are a nut and seed free school these days and all our snacks are checked for allergy advice.

Children are offered a range of snacks between 3.30pm and 4pm which include fruit, yoghurt, rice cakes, cheese and crackers and popcorn.

Activities

Children are offered a variety of activities as part of the Clubhouse experience: puzzles, games, arts and crafts, construction kits.

We have organised a new selection of books to browse or chill out with.

This term the staff have planned activities to reflect various autumnal events and celebrations.

Movie Night

Movie Night is on 9 October this term and runs from 3.30 – 5.30 pm.

The children in Reception are offered an alternative experience, run in an alternative space with the FOSS Team/Clubhouse Team organising some screen time with some outdoor play. Snacks are organised by FOSS and usually consist of crisps, cake and a drink

There are no clubs on offer this night

Additional Needs

Parents / Carers are kindly reminded that children with additional needs are considered for clubs on a case by case basis in consultation with Mrs Bouwman the Senco. Children are expected to have a certain level of independence to manage after school provision. The school may organise risk assessments for health and safety concerns if appropriate.

Scooters/Bikes

If your child travels to school via a scooter/bike please ensure that the scooters/bikes are left in the main school parking area. We are unable to use staff members to collect bikes from the other building at pick up time.

We are excited about another year offering your children the wrap around care that enables you to do what you need to do.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
